Marcus is a former newspaper journalist with experience on local papers and as a freelance contributor to national papers, radio and television.
Born in north London
he moved into local government communications and has worked for the London
Boroughs of Haringey and Wandsworth –
gaining experience of organisations run by
both sides of the political spectrum.
He moved on to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in Surrey where he was Head of Communications for nine years – through a variety of political administrations.
He joined Gloucester City Council in 2000 where he heads up a small multi-award winning team which is listed by the Improvement and Development Agency as an example of best practice in media relations.
Outside of work he has a keen interest in fitness.
