David Thorp
David leads both The Institute’s Research and Information and Learning and Development divisions. He is responsible for thought-leadership, policy development and external affairs.
He represents The Institute on both the Marketing Standards Board and the Sales Standards Board and is a member of the Advisory Group guiding the development of new national standards for Social Marketing.
Prior to his current role David was Head of Training Development for The Institute, responsible for the full range of its training courses, reflecting an interest in training and development that has been present throughout his career.
Before joining The Chartered Institute of Marketing David ran his own training consultancy specialising in the marketing of distance and open learning materials. Before this he was Marketing Director and then Managing Director of Anthony Wade Consultants, a training business specialising in international trade and commerce.
